Introduction à Playing For Change

Playing for Change est un mouvement multimédia créé afin d’inspirer, de connecter et de promouvoir la paix dans le monde au travers de la musique. L’idée de notre projet nait de la conviction que la musique repousse les frontières et nous aide à nous projeter au delà de nos différences, quelles que soient nos origines, nos opinions politiques, ou la nature de notre spiritualité. La musique a le pouvoir de nous unir en tant qu’habitants de la même planète. Nous avons créé un studio d’enregistrement mobile, équipé d’un matériel digne des plus grands studios et voyagé à travers le monde là où la musique nous amenait.

Au cours de la réalisation de ce projet que nous avons réalisé qu’il n’était pas suffisant d’enregistrer et de partager cette musique : nous avons voulu trouver le moyen d’apporter quelque chose en retour aux différentes communautés rencontrées, qui avaient tant partagé avec nous. C’est ainsi que nous avons créé en 2007 la Fondation Playing For Change, organisme à but non-lucratif dont la mission allait être de créer et de développer des écoles de musique pour ces communautés.

Le dernier chapitre du mouvement Playing for Change a été la création du Playing For Change Band. Regroupant d’incroyables musiciens venus des quatre coins du monde, le groupe est l’expression même de cette incroyable force qui nait de l’union des cultures. Lorsque le public voit et écoute ces musiciens qui ont voyagé des milliers de kilomètres pour se retrouver ensemble sur scène et chanter, le pouvoir unificateur de la musique ne fait plus de doute pour personne.

Aujourd’hui, tout le monde peut participer à cette expérience unique en rejoignant le mouvement. Partagez le message, contribuez au travail de la Fondation, impliquez-vous… Mais tout ça n’est qu’un début. Ensemble, nous connecterons le monde au travers de la musique !

Playing For Change began with a small film crew and a mobile recording studio. From there it grew into a movement encompassing a non-profit organization that operates music schools in 7 countries, and a touring band composed of musicians from around the world.

We all speak the Universal Language of music, no matter what our culture, nationality, race or religion. We Human Beings are all the same, & we are all part of each other, whether or not we are willing to admit it. Too bad more people aren’t willing to ignore the man-made barriers and just accept each other, we could all live in paradise if people would stop hating each other for our differences, and just LISTEN to the heart & soul of other people.
